Useful sites

Here are some other sites related to creating a library makerspace or running activities there.

  • http://makeitatyourlibrary.org/ – This was started by some librarians who got a grant and partnered with Instructables.com to provide an easy way to share projects that they’ve successfully run at their libraries. You can join too, and share your projects with Instructables step by step project documenter
  • http://makerspace.com/ – This is a resource site for people starting makerspaces sponsored and run by makermedia (the Make Magazine) people. It’s  a home to the makerspace playbook, which you can request through their site. The blog is also very useful to see interesting happenings and thoughts from around the country. This mostly has an educational bent.
  • Ellen Snoyenbos from the Duxbury Free Library has been sharing her experience running maker programs on her blog : Library as Makerspace
